The presented images combine heavy and often haunting urban settings with an element of lightness bringing to mind happy childhood memories and situations miles away from what the elements in the background of the compositions communicate.

The natural setting for this concept based on contrasts was identified in the streets, squares, parks and interiors of former cities of the Eastern Block.

The bubble is an object out of context, floating through the scenes for no logical reason, ignored by the individuals present in some of the scenes but at times apparently interacting with unanimated objects.

The result is often grotesque and surrealistic but it brings about an element of interest to objects and situations that would otherwise be considered as dull and anonymous.

The bubble brings movement to static scenes giving an idea of freedom and lightness but this apparently positive message is nevertheless ambiguous because it bares at the same time the impression of frailty.

The positive element of lightness is doomed to last only a few seconds and represents therefore just an illusion and an indirect reminder of the heaviness of everyday urban life and of the ghosts of the past.
